How to Style a Trench Coat in 5 Different Ways?
The winter season is quickly approaching, and it's time to dig out our warm clothes. The best wardrobe staples excel in both form and function, which is why the trench coat is such a wonderful and essential item in any woman's wardrobe. Whatever your style is, a trench coat will be an excellent addition to your outerwear collection.
The trench coat I own is by SuzyD and is similar to the one shown below. SuzyD is a great brand that makes a variety of trenches in a variety of colours, the most common of which are beige, tan, and black. I prefer lighter, classic tan shades because I believe they are the most versatile, but if you prefer a different colour, go ahead and do so. I'll now show you 5 different ways to wear your trench coat in the spring, fall, and beyond!
With High-Waisted Jeans and Heeled Sandals
If I'm going to a brand meeting, I'll often wear a variation of this outfit–also, it's a great outfit for those who don't work in strict business casual environments but still need to look polished. Dark jeans are always more formal, as are sleeveless shell tops that can be dressed up or down. You can shop this casual look from any women's clothes shop in London. Swap jeans for work pants and close-toed pumps for a more business-like look. The trench is the perfect finishing touch.
With Loafers and a Sweater for the Plane
When it comes to travel in the spring and fall, my trench coat is often my go-to outer layer. It's lightweight, so it's ideal for flying (and doubles as a nice blanket!). Pair it with this insanely comfortable sweater (it's V-neck AND also converts to off-the-shoulder–perfect for travel because it goes from day to night in an instant!). These loafers are also among my favorites, and they make excellent travel shoes. They slip right off and don't need to be broken in–they're so comfortable right away! They also come in a variety of colours.
Over a Printed Maxi Dress
I wore this look in fall, but it's just as easy to recreate in spring and winter. Throwing on a trench over a pretty floral dress looks so classic and effortless to me! A pair of peep-toe or cage booties would be ideal for a more spring-like look in footwear. For winters, wear a printed maxi dress to keep your knees from freezing. And most of us have a printed maxi dress, if not all. But if you don't own one, you can get it from an Italian clothing store women.
With a Beret
This season, I'm all about berets, and wouldn't you know–they look darling with a trench coat? I adore an all-neutral outfit! I'd love to have this beret in blush for spring as well! (I'm also wearing this sweater as we speak.) It's fantastic. Furthermore, these pants are great staples to have in and out of the office all year.
With Trousers and Loafers
This is a great outfit that can be worn for various occasions; it's professional enough for the office but cute and stylish enough for a Saturday or Sunday brunch! The pants, in particular, are extremely comfortable and lightweight, so you'll be able to wear them all summer! I also like the look of a striped top or striped sweater layered with a trench–the combination pays homage to Kelly's love of classic prep. This sweater is also from Everlane (where I get a lot of my sweaters), and it's a great weight–perfect for cooler summer days at the beach with a pair of cut-offs.
